UNICEF reported an estimated 70,000 children under age of five were at risk of malnutrition after the quake and at least 15,000 of them needed therapeutic foods. In total, there are over 1.7 million children requiring urgent humanitarian support. Even before the earthquake in 2015, Nepal already was reported as one of the nations with highest malnutrition rates in the world.
